Why people choose implants
Unlike a bridge or a removable denture, an implant replaces the entire tooth. A small titanium post goes into the jawbone, where it bonds with the bone over time. Then we top it with a custom crown that matches your other teeth.
The result looks, feels and works like your own tooth, and it doesn't lean on the teeth next to it for support. You can bite into an apple without thinking twice.
Placed by doctors you already know
Dr. Hyrum Packard and Dr. Joseph Packard place dental implants themselves, here in our Roy office. That means you don't get sent across town to someone new for the surgery and then back again for the crown. Same faces, same office, start to finish.
Patients come to us for dental implants from Roy, West Haven, Hooper, Riverdale and Ogden.
The implant process
- Consultation and planning. We check your jawbone and overall oral health and map out your plan
- Implant placement. The post is placed with the area numbed first
- Healing. Over a few months, the implant bonds with the bone to make a sturdy base
- Your new crown. A custom crown, shade-matched to your smile, completes the tooth
If the tooth is still there and can't be saved, the first step may be a gentle tooth extraction.
Is an implant right for you?
Most healthy adults with enough jawbone are good candidates. If an implant isn't the right fit, a bridge or dentures may be. We'll explain the pros and cons of each in plain language, with no pressure.
